I just wanted to clarify that in the previous releases of SQL Server was using a shared MSSearch service, and when Microsoft releases any operating system updates or service packs it might change and affect this MSSearch service in a way that might result in some undesirable problems for your instances…. For example if you are installing exchange server or share point server and you installed an update for your share point it might have some changes affecting the behavior of the shared service.
Therefore it in Yukon it is changed that there will be side by side full text engine installations for each instance so it is per instance level now.
This means that for each SQL Server 2005 instance there will be the following components:
MSFTESQL: Microsoft Full Text Engine for SQL.
MSFTEFD: Microsoft Full Text Engine Filter Daemon.
Word Breaker, Stemmers, and Filters.
