The Canadian Supreme Court refused today "to hear a case involving the private copying levy and its application to the Apple iPod. While some are celebrating, the decision effectively renders copying CDs onto an iPod unlawful in Canada."
This decision basically bans a customer from copying even a legally store-bought CD to a iPod. Personally I think this decision sets a dangerous precident. As
Michael Geist
says, this will probably have an adverse effect on CD sales, hurting the record companies and the artists.
