 Yesterday I've installed Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 side-by-side with SQL Server 2005 Beta 2. If you want to do this you must do it in the following order:
  1. Installing Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1
  2. Uninstall .NET Framework 2.0 Beta 1 (shipped with Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1)
  3. Install prerequisites of SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 (including the .NET Framework compatible with SQL Server 2005 Beta 2)
  4. Install SQL Server 2005 Beta 2

My question to MSFT: why both packages (Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 & SQL Server 2005 Beta 2) are not compatible with each other? Why you have shipped them separately???
